🎯 What is the Exploited Systems Table?
This table shows all systems you control that are marked as EXP (Exploited) in PowerPlay 2.0. These systems form the base of your territory and are tethered to your fortified/stronghold systems.
💡 Key Concept: Exploited systems are vulnerable to undermining and can be lost if their defensive tethers break. The table helps you identify which systems should be upgraded to fortified status (EXP→FT) for better protection and to strengthen your defensive network.
Main Purpose:
- Identify high-risk exploited systems that need upgrades
- See which systems are being undermined and need reinforcement
- Track mining opportunities near controlled territory
- Monitor defensive coverage and identify gaps
🛡️ How to Use This Table
1. Identify Upgrade Priorities
Sort by 1UP Score (descending) to see which exploited systems need upgrading to Fortified status:
- Score 7-10 (Green): Critical upgrades - these systems face high risk from tether loss, exposed coverage, or lack of redundancy
- Score 5-7 (Gold): High priority - good defensive value, should be upgraded soon
- Score 3-5 (Blue): Medium priority - situational upgrades based on available CP
- Score 1-3 (Orange): Low priority - minimal defensive benefit, upgrade only if CP is abundant
💡 Pro Tip: High 1UP scores indicate systems that would significantly strengthen your defensive network if upgraded. Focus on these before expanding to new systems.
2. Monitor Undermining Threats
Sort by UM (descending) to see which systems are under attack:
- Red bars: High undermining activity - needs immediate reinforcement
- Growing deltas: If 12h/24h delta bars are long, UM is accelerating
- Activity bar imbalance: If red side is much longer than green, opposition is outpacing defenders
⚠️ Warning: Exploited systems that flip to turmoil cause them to go into turmoil and can trigger a cascade of tether losses. Prioritize defense on high-UM systems!
3. Find Mining Opportunities
Filter by Rings column to find systems with valuable materials:
- Pristine Metallic (P): Best mining - Platinum, Painite, other metals
- Major Metallic (M+): Good mining - slightly lower yields than Pristine
- Hotspots: Hover over ring info to see specific hotspot types (Platinum, Monazite, etc.)
💡 Mining Bonus: Systems are already controlled, so you get the PowerPlay bonuses while mining! Look for rings near stations for quick selling.
4. Assess Defensive Coverage
Sort by Bubble Coverage to identify defensive gaps:
- Low coverage (0-1 defenders): Vulnerable systems - if their single defender falls, they could be lost
- Medium coverage (2-4 defenders): Reasonably protected but could use redundancy
- High coverage (5+ defenders): Well protected - these are safe and don't need urgent upgrades
⚠️ Risk Alert: Systems with only 1 defender are at critical risk. If that defender is contested or flips, the exploited system loses its tether and goes into turmoil!
🎓 Understanding the Upgrade Score
The 1UP Score for exploited systems considers four factors:
Risk Reduction (50% weight)
- R1 - Exposed Cover Lift: How many nearby systems would gain coverage if this upgrades
- R2 - Tether-Loss Mitigation: How many systems would lose their only defender (causing turmoil)
- R3 - Redundancy Lift: How many systems currently have low coverage that would benefit
- R4 - Supporter Strength Buffer: How strong the system's defenders are (less critical for EXP since it gets added to coverage network)
System Quality (25% weight)
- Population: Higher population = more strategic value
- Economy: High-Tech, Industrial, Military economies valued more
- Mining: Pristine rings, valuable hotspots (Platinum, Monazite)
Acquisition Potential (15% weight)
- How many quality systems are within 15 LY (could be exploited if this becomes fortified)
- Systems that open up new expansion vectors score higher
Cost Efficiency (10% weight)
- CP remaining in the treasury affects upgrade timing
- Lower CP = lower efficiency score (might want to wait for better economic conditions)
💡 Philosophy: The 1UP score prioritizes defensive stability. Better to have a strong core of fortified systems than a sprawling empire of vulnerable exploited systems!
📊 Example Scenarios
Scenario 1: High Risk Exploited System
System: Example A
- 1UP Score: 8.5 (Excellent - Upgrade Now)
- Coverage: 1 SH, 2 FT (low for EXP)
- UM: High (red bar)
- R2 Score: 8 systems (many would lose tether if this flips)
Action: Priority upgrade! This system is under heavy attack and many others depend on it. Upgrading to Fortified strengthens the entire defensive network.
Scenario 2: Quality Mining System
System: Example B
- 1UP Score: 6.2 (Good - High Priority)
- Rings: P (Pristine Metallic with Platinum hotspots)
- UM: Moderate
- Coverage: 3 FT (decent)
Action: Good upgrade candidate. The mining value plus moderate risk makes this worth fortifying to secure the resource site permanently.
Scenario 3: Low Priority System
System: Example C
- 1UP Score: 2.1 (Low Priority)
- Coverage: 5 FT, 2 SH (very safe)
- UM: Low/None
- R1/R2: 0 (no nearby systems benefit from upgrade)
Action: Skip for now. This system is safe and doesn't provide defensive benefits if upgraded. Save CP for higher priorities.
